Gene Sarazen Gift- $1001-$2000

Gene Sarazen came from humble beginnings. Through hard work and help from friends, he became the 11th greatest golfer in the world.  Even though he did not go to college he was given an honorary degree from Sienna College in New York for his continued quest to learn and design golf clubs.  He created an endowment fund for a young person to have scholarship if they did well in the classroom and athletically. 

A Sarazen gift will make it possible for someone to play multiple regional two-day events, gaining even more experience and exposure to college coaches.

Byron Nelson Gift- $2001-$5000

Byron Nelson is considered to be one of the greatest ball strikers of all time with the sweetest swing, winning an amazing 11 titles in a row on the PGA Tour!  A humble man that had a dream, it wasn’t just about golf; he dreamt to have a full working ranch in Texas near his childhood home.  When he left home to try and make it as a professional golfer he had but $2,000 to his name.  He estimated that he could live off that for almost year while traveling the country playing golf for a living!  Who knew that he would end up making a living, and then some, enabling him to retire from the PGA Tour at the ripe old age of 34 citing he had made what he needed for his ranch!

A Nelson gift would help get a young person started on their journey to their dream, academically as well as athletically!  This could certainly set a young person up for academic help, nearly a full season of regional events, as well as coaching.

Gary Player Gift- $10,001-$15,000

Gary Player, the Black Knight from South Africa exemplifies attitude equals altitude, ever positive and energized.  Player grew up on a farm in South Africa where his father worked in the gold mines and his mother passed at an early age.  Player was introduced to the game at 14 years old through his caddy job to earn money.  He vowed the day he received his first set of clubs he would someday be the best golfer in the world.  Player went on to win over 160 events worldwide, 9 Major championships and is known as the world traveler and top 3 golfers of all time!  His first place winner’s check of $15,000 in 1958 was what he called the rocket fuel that propelled him to go on to such a wonderful career.  It made him feel like he belonged on the PGA Tour, he knew at that moment he would indeed become the greatest!

A Player gift is rocket fuel for a lucky young person or two!  It will help one young person for an entire year of travel and tournament fees, life changing exposure to college coaches and opportunities to gain acceptance into a great university.  In addition to the tournament exposure it will give many hours of preparation for the SAT or ACT standardized testing that many colleges require gaining acceptance. 

Sam Snead Gift- $5001-$10,000

Sam Snead had to start making a living at the young age of 7 years old, caddying at The Homestead in West Virginia.  At 19 in 1934 he went on to work as an assistant professional turning professional 2 short years later. He quickly gained the respect of all the “touring” professionals of his era by winning his first tournament as a professional while picking up $10,000!  This was all Snead needed to gain confidence. He continued mowing down wins to the tune of 82 professional wins and go on to become the all-time leader on the PGA Tour.  He was famously quoted as saying, “it’s not what you want to be that matters, it’s how bad do you want to be it!”

A Snead gift will certainly make the impact you are looking for on a young person’s life.  A gift as generous as this will help an athlete travel and participate in a full season of tournaments!  Along with tournaments, he/she will gain tremendous access to the academic center, lifetime learning mentors and much more.

Bobby Jones Gift- $15,001-$20,000

Bobby Jones is considered the greatest amateur to ever play the game of golf.  He was the first American to win what was considered the Grand Slam (Open Championship, The Amateur Championship, US Open Championship, US Amateur Championship) and one of the few to ever hold all major trophies at one time!  Jones was not only a great golfer, but a scholar who went on to become an Attorney.  He was co-creator of the Masters Tournament and a founder and designer of Augusta National.  He believed that if you were going to be good at something you need to put an enormous amount of energy and time into it.  He retired young from competitive golf to focus on his work as an attorney as well as his family.  He is in the Hall of Fame at Georgia Tech University of Engineering, Golf Hall of Fame and R & A Golf Hall of Fame.

Jack Nicklaus Gift- $20,000-$49,999

Jack Nicklaus is considered the greatest golfer of all time!  18 Major championships, 19 major runner-up and 9 third place finishes in a span of 25 years: THE GREATEST!  Jack was a three sport athlete that chose to play golf for a living because he felt it was the best sport for his personality.  He could focus on one thing and be great at it, goal accomplished!  Nicklaus for all of his accomplishments on the course has been known to say, one of his greatest accomplishments has been his ability to give back to the communities that helped him. He wanted to make sure he could make an impact on a young person’s life.  Nicklaus is in the Golf Hall of Fame, R&A Golf Hall of Fame, Canadian Golf Hall of Fame, Ohio University Hall of Fame and a Global Ambassador of the Olympic Games.  He knows the power of tenacity and drive, the will to learn more and be better each day!

Arnold Palmer Gift-$50,000+

Arnold Palmer, the undisputed “King” of golf!  This charismatic golfer came from humble beginnings to rule the golf world.  First learning how to work hard from his parents as a young boy, to out working many business tycoons to build a global empire far beyond his “pay” grade, as Palmer would say.  Palmer may not have won as many Major Championships as Nicklaus, but he won many more hearts.  Always confident, Palmer became one of the first athletes to become a household name.  He made golf fun, interesting and fashionable for the average person.  Palmer is the example of how to turn passion into a successful career and life!  The impact that Mr. Palmer has made on the landscape of the human race is far reaching.  Mr. Palmer had a great quote that may resonate, “always give total effort, even when the odds seem to be against you, never quit trying, never feel that you don’t have a chance to win.”

A Palmer gift is more precious than gold!  This will make a significant impact to a deserving young person or persons facing adversity but is up for the challenge. Someone that never gives up and therefore will always have a chance to win!  A Palmer gift will sponsor 1-3 young people’s scholarship to the best coaching, educational opportunities, 6 regional events, Junior Golf player profile and equipment.

If an individual or company wishes to be the“Host” sponsor of a regional event, they would be recognized as a partner of the GPC Foundation.   Being a host sponsor allows GPC Foundation the ability to acquire golf courses in the area that would hold an event.  This is a tremendous help in giving a young person a chance to expose their games to college coaches.
