The Gene Sarazen Gift

Gene Sarazen came from humble beginnings. Through hard work and assistance from friends, he became one of the greatest golfers in the world! Sarazen did not attend college but was given an honorary degree from Siena College in New York for his continued quest to learn, as well for his proficiency in golf club design – Sarazen invented the modern sand wedge, which led to a revolution in short game techniques. He also created an endowment fund, awarded annually to students who reflect his high personal, athletic, and intellectual ideas.

This gift will make it possible for an athlete to play multiple regional two-day events, gaining even greater experience and exposure to college coaches. Depending on the individual’s need, your gift may also fund academic tutoring, equipment, practice time, tournament fees, and a player profile.
